Hi, my name is Daryl Rasmussen, and I am a SharePoint Developer.
I love working with Sharepoint, and I love being a programmer, so I guess it was inevitable that I became a SharePoint Developer. Its what I do, and now, why I’m here on WordPress.
I would like to use this forum to consolidate some of the things I’ve learned along my journey from a pure .net ASPX webforms developer to (hopefully becoming) a SharePoint guru. I started working with SharePoint 2003 in early 2004, but only on a project or two. I switched to SharePoint 2007 in 2007, but continued to also work in pure .NET and SQL Server on an off for the next few years. By 2010 I had moved into management, but continued to dabble in SharePoint, including writing some pretty cool webparts in SharePoint 2010 for my then current employer.
In 2011 I decided I wanted to go back to coding full time, and decided that SharePoint was the way of the future. I made the transition and have worked exclusively in SharePoint 2010 and 2013 ever since.
Thanks for checking out my blog. Mostly the posts are more for my own benefit (remembering what I did and why), but if you choose to read them I hope you find value. I know I’ve sometimes gleaned insight from reading other people’s blogs, so maybe you can find value in what I write.
